Rising softly from silence, Brooklyn quartet Salt Cathedral’s newest single “Tease” packs a pretty energy that puts it on par with the rest of the synth pop pack and simultaneously sets it apart.
Sparkly and anxious, “Tease” meanders through influences with the generous curiosity of a stoner in a 7-Eleven, airy vocals set against a skittering groove that feels of a piece with SBTRKT, dotted with an echoey guitar solo and otherworldly vocal manipulations. A satisfyingly full four-and-a-half minutes.
