Nocando has cascaded through hip-hop’s rapid (and occasionally inscrutable) evolution over the past decade. A Los Angeles native, Project Blowed alum, Low End Theory host, seasoned battle champion, podcast host, and scourer of internet rap, Nocando’s unusual hip-hop credentials make him exactly the perfectly unlikely candidate to deliver a whimsical, bittersweet song like latest collaborative effort “Feel Good.”

“After finishing up all the songs for my next project, I started booking sessions and inviting new friends rappers, producers, musicians of all sorts,” says Nocando. “Last year I met a young man named Troop from Mississippi by way of Atlanta. In these sessions I encourage everyone to freestyle to try and make sure that nothing is contrived. Troop never did that in the booth before and nailed it the first time around. What we got was a fun springtime record with a little edge to it.”

With a laid back beat by Los Angeles producer WHITERO$E in tow, the duo of Nocando and Troop delivers evocative rapping about past romantic escapades. It’s hip-hop’s rite of spring, a breezy, bittersweet window into the past. Listen below.
