moodblanc - "Vous"

None

As a follow up to their warmly nostalgic disco-lounge debut “On The Radio,” Swedish duo moodblanc release a slightly higher-energy take on their retro-cool formula, dipping into the lux pop of the late 80s as a source of inspiration and laying down a killer bassline for new single “Vous.” Like its predecessor, “Vous” fits nicely into the fray of 2013’s affection for dance music that doesn’t demand drops and stomping beats, depending instead on grooves and memorable hooks (or, at very least, Daft Punk‘s market-dominating affection for dance music that doesn’t demand drops and stomping beats).

“Vous” marks the second installment in a loose narrative created moodblanc’s Kenneth Jovinder and Magnus Dahlöf, a story of two lovers meeting in a swanky Paris hotel. It’s the sort of detail and imagination mirrored in the group’s loving recasting of the music that influenced them, giving added dimension to the duo’s smooth sounds.
