Following up their pleasantly surprising debut single “Think,” London-based duo Kaleida up the energy with stellar second step “Tropea.” Glittering and deftly toeing the line between retro-leaning synth-pop influences and modern sheen (it’s not hard to imagine this beat living comfortably on AlunaGeorge’s Body Music with a bit of refitting), “Tropea” stretches the bounds of Kaleida’s developing sound without stepping too far outside of the lane set by “Think,” keeping singer Christina Wood’s icily sexy croon intact atop a backing track that sounds like the skeleton of an anthem.
