Conner Youngblood - "The Warpath"

1.

Conner Youngblood‘s “The Warpath” serves up a curious take on its namesake, a musical simmer that never boils over and suggests a steady, far off march with its sparse percussion, persistent banjo, and whistling refrain. Youngblood’s gauzy vocals haunt the proceedings, balancing hope and melancholy against fitting instrumentation. “The Warpath” provides an interesting, atmospheric departure from the last time we heard the talented Mr. Youngblood (on “Gold”), but certainly a welcome one.
