Lately, we've been hearing more indie pop move in the direction of mainstream pop—polished production, sweet melodies, and hooks fit for anthems. Saro's "Test" is more restrained, smarter. It's still catchy and upbeat, but with slick synths and hushed falsetto vocals, it avoids ever breaking out into that corny moment of pop overindulgence and stays in a cool, sophisticated lane.
Saro's debut EP, which is executive produced by Robin Hannibal (Rhye, Jessie Ware, Jamie Woon, Quadron), comes out later this fall. Check out "Test" below.
