Producer Felix Snow wears many hats. He's produced songs for Lil Uzi Vert and Young Thug that sound unlike anything the rappers have ever done, helped to craft the saccharine pop sound of Terror Jr, and always manages to make his collaborators sound good with expertly executed production. On his latest batch of songs, his collaborator is his girlfriend and the whole approach has shifted.

"Me and my girlfriend moved from LA to Nashville recently," Snow explains. "The whole switch has spawned a return to our roots and this project is a part of that. All these songs were recorded in our Nashville apartment over the course of two days and we're making a ton more like them. It's an outlet for where I came from—the Grateful Dead, Velvet Underground, David Bowie, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Roky Erickson, Mazzy Star ... all those legends."

Instead of high production value, the project favors a raw, organic, straightforward rock feel. Some of Snow's friends play trumpet and saxophone on two of the songs, and everything is live, untouched by vocal effects or heavy-handed digital alterations. "It's so nice to hear voices without tune sometimes," Snow says. "I don't want people to forget that—how that sounds and feels."
