“I called Mikey and realized nothing would feel better than us being the originators again,” Chuck Inglish tweeted today, signaling the reunion of The Cool Kids. “We really felt like we hadn’t really finished what we started. They took our styles and ran off. We coming back for it all.”

“The hiatus is over. We missed being us,” he added.

Fans of their bass heavy late-2000s hits like “Black Mags” and “Gold And A Pager” were left hanging after Inglish and Sir Michael Rocks went their separate ways in 2011. Hopes of a reunion have been bleak until now. As recently as April 2015, Rocks tweeted (and later deleted), “The Cool Kids are never coming back. I’m sorry. Shit was tight… but I’m actually way better now.”

Fortunately, they’ve changed their minds. Rocks echoed Inglish’s statement, adding, “Everything else can wait. The world is fuckin trippin right now I just want shit to feel good again.”

No word yet on when we’ll hear new music from the duo, but now is a good time to revisit some of their best moments on The Bake Sale and When Fish Ride Bicycles. Re-watch their video for “Black Mags” below.
