Sky Ferreira Covers 'Playboy,' Visually Introduces New Album 'Masochism'

"I am the first bunny ever to be a creative collaborator & creative/art direct."

Sky Ferreira first announced her sophomore album, Masochism, back in April 2015, but it looks like the rollout is finally about to begin. The Los Angeles singer announced on Instagram that she will be introducing the album visually in the cover story of Playboy's October 2016 issue.

"I am the first bunny ever to be a creative collaborator & creative/art direct," she explained. "I produced & directed all of the content. It is the first introduction to #Masochism (visually). My best friend @sandycandykim shot the photos & Bruce Dern did the interview. I will get much more into detail about the project & all of the people involved tomorrow when I unveil the covers!"

This comes on the heels of controversy surrounding an LA Weekly article “Sky Ferreira’s Sex Appeal Is What Pop Music Needs Right Now” that was published earlier this summer. At the time, she responded: "I'm obviously a lot more than my 'sex appeal' or my 'knockers.' I'm not ashamed of either of those things either. It's not calculated or whatever. I do what I want when I feel it's true to me. If there was some sort of formula all of this would be a lot easier and faster & probably more 'successful.'"

Thursday afternoon, photographer Sandy Kim shared the special double cover on her Instagram. Those can be seen below.
