After hearing the Justin Vernon-assisted “Tiff,” excitement levels were high for Poliça‘s new album, and having now heard the whole thing, I can assure you that this band doesn’t need Vernon’s help to craft beautiful songs that draw from both the electronic and indie-rock worlds. If you enjoyed the band’s debut album Give You The Ghost, you would have already known that, but if you’re just getting to know the band, you can get an idea of the range and variety that stretches cross their album by watching the immersive video for the slow-paced “Warrior Lord” and then checking out the pounding, pummeling “Chain My Name.”
