Stubborn Heart - "Knuckledown"

1.

There is something about heartbreak that makes for fantastic music. Whether it’s Bobby Womack’s cracked, world-weary voice apologising to his lover or the pitch shifted vocals of this mysterious London duo Stubborn Heart hoping to “turn things around,” losing oneself in someone else’s grief can be surprisingly rewarding. “Knuckledown,” which boasts dance-floor indebted production, introspective lyrics and even some seagull noises, is an immersive and impressive welcome to this duo’s world, and leaves me wanting more of their excellent future-soul.
