T.O.L.D. has recreated the magic of his brilliant debut “Lucifer’s Eyes” (watch the video here) on his latest track “In Low Light.” We loved “Lucifer’s Eyes,” and its contrast of upbeat elements and darker lyrical themes so much that we had a little chat with the man behind T.O.L.D., British born Dan Smith, who explained that he had moved to L.A. because, “the grey skies in England made [him] too blue, the blue skies in L.A. make [him] less blue.”

His forthcoming debut EP Heaven, out via IAMSOUND on November 18, was recorded in Iceland with Birgir Þórarinsson (aka Biggo) from Gus Gus, and the sweeping ’80s pop influence is clear, mixed with Smith’s own throaty vocals, those lovely steel drums, and, on “In Low Light,” an explosion of synths towards the end. Ionna Gika from Io Echo guests on “In Low Light”—check out the premiere below.
