20-year-old Alexander Kotz is a UK-based multi-instrumentalist and vocalist who will be releasing his debut EP Simmer Down on November 24 via Black Butter. With just one other track, and a couple of remixes to his name, “Could” will be most people’s introduction to the music he makes as Elderbrook, and it leaves a good early impression. The track is a comfortable mix of bubbling, stop-start production and quavering vocals, overall a little reminiscent of Alt-J, a little of SOHN, but certainly Kotz’s own concoction.
