I’ve been a big fan of Niki & The Dove (who were one of our 12 European Bands You Should Know About) since first hearing the soaring pop of “DJ Ease My Mind”, which is a perfect introduction to the slightly weird world of this Swedish two-piece. Their next single, “Tomorrow”, which comes in advance of their debut album Instinct (out May 14th), has a typically huge hook which serves as an enjoyable counterpoint to the fairly sparse, twitchy electronics of the rest of the song. All of their releases so far have been lessons in haunting Scandinavian pop, and if their album continues in that vein then we’ll have one awesome debut album on our hands.
