Listen to the Twisted Soul of Ofei's "London EP"

None

Around ten seconds into “Tomorrow,” the first solo track we heard from Ofei, the mysterious British singer’s voice comes in, and it’s immediately clear that this his music sounds like very little else out there. Ofei’s voice is raw and unrefined, and all the more powerful for it. The spare production that accompanies him on “Tomorrow”—the mixture of simple piano and sudden electronic elements—is replicated across this new EP, with “London” and “Fate” both building to frenetic highs, while “Poem” is basically a spoken word piece.

Ofei’s London EP isn’t exactly easy to listen to, the lyrics are dense and the vocals and production can be harsh at points, but there is a passion, a poignancy, and an urgency that marks these four tracks out from anything else you’ll hear today. Listen below and download for free via Bandcamp.
