Crystal Fighters are a Spanish/British band who combine traditional Basque instrumentation with synths and a love of danceable beats. They put on one hell of a live show, and after building a large and loyal following with their debut album in 2010, have been touring heavily, and then putting in studio time, with their new album out May 27. “Wave” is a bombastic reminder of how well Crystal Fighters mix of sounds works, with a galloping beat, and a scream-it-out-loud chorus that is built (as much of their output seems to be) for festival crowds.
