From the mind of the man who brought us an entire (amazing) Gucci Mane vs. Boards of Canada album, and a Hot Boy$ x Aphex Twin album, comes a thirty minute mix of The Diplomats’ (Cam’ron, Jim Jones, and Juelz Santana) gritty, witty hustler raps over production from Scottish duo Boards of Canada. Hearing much loved rap classics like “Dipset Anthem” over equally well-loved experimental production will be strange for fans of either artists, but approach this with an open mind and there are some really awesome moments.
The highlight might be from 4.44 when Juelz Santana’s “Dipset (Santana’s Town)” and then Cam’ron’s verse from Mariah Carey’s “Boy (I Need You)” work perfectly with the beat. Cam’ron may have said that his next album would be his last, but at least we’ll have his body of work to mix with weird production, right?
