The concept of a remix album is nothing new. Aspiring mega-producers flip existing shit all the time. Typically when they do though they opt not to try and spin an entire album out of reworked Kanye West tracks because, let’s face it, he’s one of the best ever behind the boards. That’d be like some young painter back in the late 15th century replicating Michelangelo’s The Creation of Adam, except only in his version the fingers are touching at it’s on the ceiling of the local village chapel. Crazy right? Well, Woody is no newbie and certainly has talent, so in this case his bold move is our gain. While I still prefer the originals to some of these versions, he has put really creative twists on tracks like “Love Lockdown” and “Get Em High”. If anything it gives us a fun, fresh way to listen to some of our older favorite Yeezy cuts.
