Determined to improve, over the past year or so 17-year-old rapper Young Lungs has been maturing rapidly into an artist to watch. This maturation is tackled head-on with his latest, the Cian P and Theo-produced “Approval,” a look at what it means to grow up and the thoughts that go through the mind of every teenager on the verge of adulthood.
It’s a combination of frustration regarding his current position in high-school and an intense fear of his imminent future. There comes a day in everyone’s life in which they have to decide what is they’re going to do for the rest of their lives, and “Approval” is all about that terrifying day.
