Internet incarnate Nok from the Future has been relatively quiet so far this year, but it would seem he’s determined to change that with his latest release, “Open Season.” A succinct three minutes with numerous beat change-ups, “Open Season” is one of Nok’s craziest sounding tracks yet. Ditching his more melodic side to tell us how far he’s come in the past year or so, the track opts for a gruffer, back-to-basics approach.

Discussing the hate he’s had to put up with, as well as the successful shows he’s put on overseas, gaining fans in Japan and Germany among other places, “Open Season” is perhaps his most personal track so far. There’s more of a focus on what he’s saying here, and the surreal postmodernism sticks primarily to the beat this time around.
