Brooklyn native Lauren Declasse has slowly but surely been working on creating a buzz around his name. The 19-year-old rapper did just that earlier this year when he released the trippy video for his single “Martha’s Vineyard” and followed it up with even more dramatic visuals for “Dead Presidents.”

Now the young rapper returns with his next single, simply titled “Ride.” This new single—which Declasse refers to as his “rendition of a love letter to his current muse”—is taken from his upcoming project Paramour Club, that is expected to be released this winter. Declasse matches the smoothness of the rhythm set by a looped sample of Mariah Carey’s 2005 single “Shake It Off,” and builds upon it. His delivery easily transitions from laid-back to fast-paced without ever missing a beat.
