When an artist you like makes a suggestion to listen to another artist, it’s always good to pay attention. Grimes has mentioned her friend HANA on Instagram and Twitter multiple times, and today we see why. The new solo artist will reportedly be joining Grimes on tour this summer, but before that happens HANA is ready to properly introduce herself to the masses with her first official single.
Today HANA released her debut single titled “Clay”—which was co-produced by Blood Diamonds. The production of the mid-tempo track builds up subtly, matching the timid power of HANA’s own voice. “Clay” feels like a sweet, timeless pop ballad, and comes off as a great first impression.
