One of the best moments in the new video for "King's Dead" from the Black Panther soundtrack is its opening scene: Kendrick Lamar posted up in a palm tree chomping on a stick of corn—or "elote" as the Mexican-style street corn snack is often referred to.

During a Reddit AMA with Top Dawg Entertainment's Dave Free and Ret One on Friday afternoon, a fan asked what was on all of our minds: "How did you get corn on the cob Kenny in that palm tree?"

Dave Free responded, "I thought what's the most LA-est shit we can do. And then I called Kendrick and Jay Rock and asked if they're willing to get in a palm tree while eating elote. Their reply? Of course."

Elsewhere in the AMA, someone asked who Dave's favorite non-TDE artist was right now and he answered: Blac Youngsta. Specifically, Free linked to the Memphis rapper's new video for "Booty."

In general, Free and Ret One were very careful about which questions they answered, and they didn't reveal much information, but it was interesting that they chose to answer a question that asked: "Is there any movement with ScHoolboy Q's album? Can we get some tunes before July?" Dave Free answered, "Maybe..."

You can read the full AMA here and continue for the excellent "King's Dead" video if you haven't seen it already (or if you just want to play it run it back one more time).
