Lunice and Ryan Hemsworth Take Joji's Music in Opposite Directions With New Remixes

The deluxe version of 'In Tongues' drops on Wednesday.

We've come to know Joji for his soothing, relaxed lo-fi sounds. His debut EP, In Tongues, is the kind of project you put on at the end of a long day before hopping in an herbal bath or some shit. It's dark and sad, but low-key and completely relaxing.

Basically, it's on the opposite end of the spectrum as the abrasive, high-energy music Lunice is known for as a solo artist and as one half of TNGHT. So it was surprising to see the Canadian producer's name attached to a remix of "Demons." As expected, he takes the ethereal style of the original and steers it in a heavy, menacing direction on the remix—which sounds like something out of a horror film.

The song will arrive on the deluxe edition of In Tongues, which drops on Valentine's Day, alongside seven other remixes and two additional tracks "Plastic Taste" and "I Don't Want To Waste My Time." Another remix that arrived today—Ryan Hemsworth's take on "Will He"—heads in the opposite direction. Hemsworth focuses on the calming quality of Joji's original and stretches it out into a gorgeous, sultry remix. You can hear that below.
