"I want people to feel good when they listen to my music," Demo Taped put it simply in late 2016, laying out his goals as an artist. Then he added, "I also want people to know that you're not always going to feel good."

Not even a minute into his excellent new EP Momentary, the 19-year-old producer/singer/songwriter strikes that balance beautifully. Over bouncy pianos and uplifting background vocals, he sings about his anxiety, panic, and insecurities. At surface level, his colorful blend of R&B, electronic, and pop music definitely makes you feel good, but Demo Taped's acknowledgement that it's not always good helps ground the buoyant sounds. In other words, he's found a nice balance. And that feels good. This whole damn EP feels good. And it's here just in time for the weekend. Dive in below. Or listen on Apple Music or Spotify.
