This Tame Impala-Inspired Version of the 'Stranger Things' Theme is Incredible

Today, in news you didn't know you needed: Stranger Things and Kevin Parker get a little closer to their inevitable original soundtrack.

​Flynn Hendry struck gold last month with this inventive rework of the Stranger Things theme, which is usually performed by S U R V I V E. Hendry is from Adelaide, Australia, the land that blessed us with Kevin Parker and Tame Impala.

For thus of us still suffering from Currents withdrawal, it's a spot-on representation of all the things that make the band great—phaser drum fills, synthwave guitar swirls—in the shell of Stranger Things' addictive theme. Nicely done Flynn. Sadly, it might be a while before we hear new Tame Impala. Kevin's been busy in the studio with Travis Scott—but Hendry's version will hold us over for the time being.
