After years of building his local fanbase, MoneyBagg Yo reached an important milestone last month. His Federal 3X album cracked Billboard's top 10 in it's first week, debuting at number five with 30,000 units moved.

It's the latest in a string of wins for the Memphis rapper, who released his first mixtapes in 2012. He signed to Yo Gotti's CMG last October, and Federal 3X is his first release distributed by Interscope.

Most importantly, however, MoneyBagg Yo remains a prominent figure in his Memphis hometown. "When you're coming up and trying to be successful... the foundation begins at home," he said. "You gotta take over the city first." If our trip to Memphis was any indication, he's done just that. Watch what happened above, and stream Federal 3X below.
