There's something happening in Melbourne. The Australian city has brought us the likes of Courtney Barnett and Gotye in the past, but things have taken a more electronic turn as of late. Look no further than Tentendo, who has gained musical traction as the bassist for local favorites Billy Davis. Now he's supplementing it with a solo career, and "One Stop Shop" is the debut single.
It's a glitchy, forward-thinking cut that contrasts squishy synths with some gorgeous lead vocals. Tentendo turned to production when a wrist injury forced him to put down the bass, and the pivot is paying off—he cites Flying Lotus, J Dilla, and the Roots as influences, and the song's off-kilter swing is an indication he's been studying them closely.
