Albert Gordon has been having a rough time as of late. Faced with the prospect of living in his car, he seeked to reinvent himself after a series of events left him without a home. "I've been having a hard time trying to think of what to say," he told me over Twitter. "I just want this shit to reach people who are at their lowest. Because I was homeless when I made this, living in my car, with no other way of coping."

The resulting record, made at what he deemed his lowest point, is a melancholy trip through his mind. Adopting the name Natalie Green, his debut EP makes the most of the worst. Natalie Green is my Lover plays out like a brain in turmoil, struggling to cope. His own voice changes constantly throughout the tracks, shifting from one ear to the next, further shrouding itself in effects at times and singing clear as day the next.

"Mistakes don't define you," he says of the events that led to the creation of the EP. "It what you do after that does." If that's the case, Albert is defining himself as a promising artist with a lot to offer.
