After announcing their reunion last year, James Murphy's LCD Soundsystem returned to play a number of shows, most notably at a number of high-profile festivals. Since their reformation, however, we've not really seen much in the way of new music besides that initial Christmas track. Now, after countless teases, LCD Soundsystem is back with two brand new songs, which were previously debuted during their five-night residency at Brooklyn Steel.

Titled "American Dream" and "Call The Police," the James Murphy announced the new songs on Facebook with little forewarning. "Seriously almost done with the LP," the announcement reads, promising that more new music is on the way remarkably soon. "1 more vocal and 2 more mixes to go. As eager as folks have been for me to get this done, it's got nothing on how much I want to be finished myself. It's been one of the most enjoyable records to make in my life, if not the most fun ever (I think it is, for sure, the happiest I've ever been making a record)."

While he couldn't offer anything in the way of a release date estimation, it will definitely arrive before the end of the year from the sounds of things. Regardless of how long it takes, though, it's good to have LCD Soundsystem back. Listen to "American Dream" and "Call The Police" on Apple Music here and here and via Spotify below.
