It's an exciting time for THEY., the genre-melding duo of Dante Jones and Drew Love whose debut album NÜ RELIGION: HYENA comes out tomorrow, February 24. In the lead up to the release, THEY. have been dropping a new song from the album each day this week via Apple Music, and we've also got another new one to share, "Truth Be Told."
If you know THEY., you should already be aware of the variety of sounds they bring to the table as they mix influences like trap, R&B, rock, and "Truth Be Told" is another poignant track. Speaking about the song, Drew tells us, "Everyone can relate to the topic: Someone they used to be involved with that decided to start telling lies about them after a bad break up. This was written fresh after I went through that situation." Dante adds, "This is one of my favorite tracks production-wise on the album. I love making tracks in 6/8 and was really proud of how I was able to use some Mega Man inspired music with trap elements."
