In 2015, Canadian singer-songwriter Mac DeMarco released his mini-LP Another One, following up on his proper second album Salad Days. Now DeMarco has announced his first full-length album since 2014's Salad Days, sharing two songs from the forthcoming release. Titled This Old Dog, DeMarco has shared two tracks from the upcoming album, "My Old Man" and "This Old Dog." From the sounds of things, DeMarco is adopting a soft-rock approach for his latest record.
In a press release about the album, Mac spoke about the sound of the record. "The majority of this album is acoustic guitar, synthesizer, some drum machine, and one song is electric guitar. So this is a new thing for me. This is my acoustic album, but it’s not really an acoustic album at all. That’s just what it feels like, mostly. I’m Italian, so I guess this is an Italian rock record." The new album is due May 5 via Captured Tracks.
