Rumors of a Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole joint album has been circulating for years. Both rappers have become heavily involved in their own successful careers in the years since a video of their never-released soulful collaboration "Temptation" initially sparked rumors way back in 2011, however, leading some to believe that the project had been abandoned somewhere along the way.

Every so often, though, little bits of information have surfaced, reigniting the rumor mills—and today Ab-Soul hinted that the project is still on.

As Charlamagne pushed him about whether or not he would appear on the rumored project, the TDE rapper initially brushed it off, saying, "I can't speak on that, I wish I could. These guys, they move like the mob, you never know with these guys. I don't know too much about it. I just hope they use my verse."

Then, he finally added, "There is [an album]. They got it. They got something in the works. They been working on that motherfucker for awhile."

So, it appears the project hasn't been totally dismissed after all. Ab-Soul did add another nail in the coffin to any possibility of a future Black Hippy project, however, saying "No, and stop asking me about that. Fuck Black Hippy," during a Twitter Q&A this afternoon.

Watch him speak on the J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar album below and continue for the full Breakfast Club interview.
