Chicago, Chicago, Chicago. Musically, it's been a great year for the city, with Chance The Rapper and Kanye West both dropping albums, and rising artists like Noname and Saba proving that there's a whole new wave of talent capable of dropping fully realized projects.
Chicago-based producer Drew Mantia's "Down" might not have made it onto Saba's Bucket List Project, but we're happy to premiere it below. Lush keys and a surprising mid-song guitar solo surround the type of reflective, tongue-twisting bars that we've come to expect from Saba.
"He is one of of my favorite vocalists," Drew explains. "He packs a lot of emotion into his lyrics and delivery and his flows are wild, fun, and sometimes even challenging for me to follow. I also respect him as a producer and musician, he's unique on both the vocal front and instrumentally. He's dangerously skilled!"
