Earlier today, Google unveiled its lists for the most searched artists and songs of 2016.
Unsurprisingly, Beyoncé tops both lists, being the most-Googled artist and having the most often searched song of the year with "Formation," which she performed at this year's Super Bowl. The performance was later labeled as controversial by some conservative pundits, who claimed that Beyoncé used the platform to "attack police officers."
Following Bey are Céline Dion, Kesha, Kehlani, Coldplay, Teyana Taylor, Kanye West, Jacob Sartorius, and Guns N' Roses in the most searched artists list.
Prince's "Purple Rain" is No. 2 in Google's most searched songs list, with Rae Sremmurd's "Black Beatles" coming in third thanks to the #MannequinChallenge, Desiigner's "Panda" in fourth, and Drake's "One Dance" in fifth.
