At his best, Theophilus London often has one foot in the past and one in the future. He straddles the line between vintage and forward-thinking with grace, but on the Ariel Pink collaboration "Revenge," he goes full on retro and interpolates New Musik's 1981 song "They All Run After The Carving Knife." And it's fantastic.
The song was played during Off-White's latest runway show, but I've been waiting for this since Theophilus shared this preview on Instagram. I remember hearing that melody while scrolling through social media in the late hours of night/early hours of morning and immediately going back to it the next day, and the day after that. It's been eight weeks since that preview, but "Revenge" is finally here.
