Erykah Badu Says That D.R.A.M. is the Future

"He also has the rhythm and cadence of the future of rap."

Complex Magazine's Emily Oberg works out with many big names on her interview series Get Sweaty, and this week she learns the circus arts with the queen of neo-soul, Erykah Badu. While suspended in aerial silks and lyra hoops, the two talk about Badu hosting and producing the Soul Train Awards, eating healthy, the current state of hip-hop, and more. Check out the clip above.

Badu was also quick to say that she's been listening to a lot of D.R.A.M.— "I like D.R.A.M. because I feel like he embodies an old soul, and he also has the rhythm and cadence of the future of rap," she says. "Hip-hop kinda is the people, and it grows as the people grow. It's an an interesting place right now because it's expanding."

The love is mutual, as D.R.A.M. featured Badu on "WiFi" off his debut, Big Baby D.R.A.M., which dropped last month.
