Each year Red Bull Music Academy relocates to a new city for a month to host events, workshops, lectures, and more. From September 24 to October 28, RBMA will call Montreal home. To kick off this month in Montreal, Red Bull Music Academy hosted a lecture with one of today's brightest stars to come out of Montreal—Kaytranada.
During the hour-long lecture with host Anupa Mistry, Kaytranda shared childhood stories about music discovery with his siblings and the journey he's taken to get from making remixes for his own amusement to touring the world for sold-out crowds. He admitted that finally began to find his own sound when he stopped to trying to imitate this idols, and explained how Montreal's piu piu beat-making scene shaped him into the artist he is today.
