When we first came up with the idea of the Pigeons & Planes forum, we knew we'd want to include a section for submissions. We looked forward to our first forum discovery, but had no idea how quickly it would come, and that it would come in the form of a 19-year-old artist from Raleigh, North Carolina named Young Gunna.
"Colder" is amalgamation of a few simple elements: bouncing 808s, lighthearted keys, trap drums, a Yoshi sound effect, and a melodic, Post Malone-like delivery. As simple as it is, there is no second wasted. It's immediate, addictive, and at just a little over two minutes long, it's the kind of song conducive to heavy repeat listening. It's the perfect end-of-summer jam for holding on to that carefree feeling a little longer.
"I made 'Colder' in anticipation of summer coming to an end," Young Gunna explains, "as kind of a celebration to close summer on a certain vibe. Its just something you can turn on and everyone can sing along to."
