Just days ago, The Weeknd returned with an announcement of a new album and the release of its title track "Starboy." The brilliant new single featuring Daft Punk is now paired with some striking visuals to match.
When The Weeknd shared the artwork for Starboy, the most notable detail was the fact that his signature hair had now been cut off. In the new video, we get a better look at the transformation. The video begins with The Weeknd putting his old persona to an end, along with the hair. This rebirth allows for his new self to "come alive in the fall time."
Before the video was even released, MTV announced that the Grant Singer-directed video had been nominated for Best Video at this year's MTV EMAs. Now that the video is finally out, you can see for yourself why it was nominated as The Weeknd properly introduces his new persona.
