NYC-based producer and songwriter Quiet Luke doesn't have many songs to his name just yet, but he's also yet to have a misfire on his hands. Over the course of a little over a year, Quiet Luke has released three fantastic songs to SoundCloud, proving just how capable a musician he really is. With his most recent release, "Where U Were," he bested himself, and with "Escapist," he's perfecting himself.

Expanding upon the more colorful production found on "Where U Were," the newly released "Escapist" finds Luke capitalizing on his immense potential by streamlining his music for the better. It's not that his previous compositions were obtuse, but "Escapist" is immediate in a way his previous tracks weren't. "Escapist" is the most straight-forward of Luke's songs so far, and it's his most enjoyable for it. The house lights shine brighter on him here, whereas "Where U Were" was more of a dramatic spotlight. That he sounds great in both circumstances speaks volumes about his craftsmanship.

"Escapist" is taken from Luke's forthcoming debut EP, Beholden, which will arrive later this year via Mom + Pop / Mermaid Ave. Listen to the premiere of the absolutely captivating "Escapist" below, and check out the equally as brilliant "Where U Were" below that.
