We're still waiting to see if Young Thug's name-change is going to stick. 300 Entertainment founder Lyor Cohen announced that Young Thug is no longer going by the name Young Thug, and that he would instead be called No, My Name Is Jeffery. Soon after, a new collaboration between Wyclef and the artist formerly known as Young Thug dropped, with FKA Thug credited simply as Jeffery.
The next step is a new project, and this dramatic trailer confirms that the Jeffery mixtape is coming August 26.
Speaking on Travi$ Scott's Beats 1 radio show last week, Jeffery explained the switch: "I just want to get off the Slime Season stuff... The message is just to really go back to who I really am. I really am Jeffery. That's really my swag. I never had a street mentality. I always had a Michael Jackson mentality. I really am Jeffery."
