When fashion brand ALIFE throws a party in their native New York, they’re going to draw a crowd. That much was definitely true last month, when Desiigner, Wiki, and a whole host of NYC’s artistic innovators gathered in Manhattan. Salomon Faye was in attendance too, and even though he wasn’t slated to perform, he made sure to get on stage.
“I went to Desiigner’s show at ALIFE to see him perform, show love, and talk to him about working together,” Faye told us over email. “When I got to ALIFE I saw all my peoples from the city—the scene was out, Wiki even touched the Mic.. So I went to the DJ, pulled out my flash drive and was like, ‘You down to DJ my set?’ He said, ‘Isn’t Desiigner going on next?’ I was like… ‘Nah, he’s gonna be late.’ Next thing you know I’m on the mic performing my latest records to a city that’s beginning to recognize me as God MC.”
