Earlier this year, it was reported that there were plans to transform Prince's Paisley Park into a museum similar to that of Elvis' Graceland upon Prince's own wishes. According to USA Today, fans will be able to visit the legendary icon's home even sooner than expected: the museum will be open later this year for daily public tours.
In an official statement made through the administrator of Prince's estate, Prince sister Tyka Nelson explained that this was something that "Prince always wanted to do and was actively working on."
"Only a few hundred people have had the rare opportunity to tour the estate during his lifetime," Nelson said. "Now fans from around the world will be able to experience Prince's world for the first time as we open the doors to this incredible place." The Mayor of Chanhasssen, Minneapolis has also shown his support through his own press release, which he shared via Twitter earlier today.
Fans will be able to see Prince's rehearsal space, private night club, recording studios, and his concert hall. His personal belongings will also be out on display, including his many instruments and colorful concert outfits.
The tours will begin on October 6, and tickets will be on sale Friday via officialpaisleypark.com.
