Mick Jenkins and BadBadNotGood are turning out to be one hell of a team. Following "The Artful Dodger," a rework of "On The Map," and "Hyssop of Love," they collide again on Jenkins' powerful new song/video for "Drowning."

"It has been a one of a kind experience working with BADBADNOTGOOD," Jenkins says of his relationship with the Toronto band. Explaining the session that produced the new song, he continues, "A lot of the time they were just jamming and I was freestyling until we came across things we liked. I introduced the idea of covering TheSenseiBlue's 'On The Map,' a viral hit from YouTube and the subsequent laughs and enjoyment ensued. It was the inspiration for 'Drowning.'"

While the initial creative spark was lighthearted, the video for "Drowning" is anything but. The Nathan Smith-directed clip features dramatic imagery of Jenkins as a drowning slave, continuing the water metaphors he began on The Water[s], Wave[s], and "Rain."

The song, released as a Red Bull Sound Select single, precedes Jenkins' upcoming tour with Smino that kicks off next month. You can find dates for the tour, as well as the newly revealed tracklist for his debut album, The Healing Component (out on September 23) below. Pre-order here.
