Now that Frank Ocean's long-awaited album finally dropped, music fans are looking towards other artists who've been quiet for while and demanding to know where that new material is. After all, it's been three years since Lorde released her debut album.

Last night, the singer posted a photo of herself at ease on vacation on Instagram

As ONTD points out, one of her followers took the opportunity to confront Lorde about the status of her follow-up to 2013's Pure Heroine upon seeing the post and asks Lorde, "Do you think we will ever get another album or should we just give up on you as an artist?" Perhaps to the surprise of the follower who left the comment, Lorde actually responded.

"Give up on me if you want to!" Lorde said in her comment, "I’m an artist, I write a record when I have enough special stories to tell, and it’s all me, every melody every lyric, not some team who just start the machine up every eighteen months like clockwork." She goes on to reveal that the writing process is complete, and the album is currently in its production stage. "I’ve worked like a dog for a year making this thing great for you guys."

Lorde's follower seemed pleased with the singer's response, then leaving a comment to tell Lorde that it was (unsurprisingly) "just what [she] wanted to hear."

When it comes to Lorde, fans have slowly learned not to rush her. When sharing a funny story about her starstruck Uber driver, a fan told her to "stop tweeting about an Uber driver" because she has "an album to finish." Instead of letting the tweet go, Lorde responded, "was sitting in an Uber to the studio wasn't I?"

So, there you have it. It's coming, and it will come. Don't ask her again and let her live.
