Archy Marshall is constantly reinventing himself. Though he's most known by his King Krule alias, he's also released music under the names Zoo Kid, Edgar the Beatmaker, and DJ JD Sports. Now he returns with yet another alias—The Return of Pimp Shrimp. He shared a new single on Facebook with the message: "another age another name for the stomps."
Today Marshall shares his first single as The Return of Pimp Shrimp, a track titled "FEEL SAFE 88 (just say no)." The new song features his instantly recognizable voice layered over a rhythm that blends elements of R&B and disco with squealing sound effects that seem fitting for an old horror film's score. Though still rather mid-tempo, it appears that The Return of Pimp Shrimp is aiming for a nostalgic sound that will get people moving.
