After building the anticipation for a few years, Chance The Rapper finally released his latest project Coloring Book this past May, and it was received with a warm welcome from fans all around the world. With the amount of love it’s been given in the past few months, it comes as no surprise that other artists would want to put their own spin on some of the tracks.
The most recent cover comes to us from MisterWives. After sharing that they were excited to cover one of their favorite songs, they released their version of Chance’s “Same Drugs.” Similar to the original, the cover still holds that certain charm that makes the song so lovable.
However, hearing the words sung in lead singer Mandy Lee’s sweet voice as opposed to Chance’s raspier tone makes for an interesting spin. This rendition of “Same Drugs” has already reached Chance’s ears and he admitted that it “made [his] heart smile.”
