Not too long ago, Danny Brown announced that he’ll be releasing a new album later this year through independent British label Warp Records. Sharing the fantastic lead single “When It Rain” last month, it’s clear that Danny is gearing up for something big with the follow-up to 2013’s Old. Sounding perfectly at home with the rest of Warp’s eclectic and impressive roster, “When It Rain” shows that isn’t looking to abandon his roots anytime soon.

Last night he finally shared the title of the highly anticipated album, tweeting that the album will be titled Atrocity Exhibition. Named after a track from Joy Division’s seminal second studio album Closer, which was released in the months following Ian Curtis’ suicide, Danny shared a picture of Curtis’ lyrics on Instagram. He also noted that Atrocity Exhibition is the title of an experimental novel written by J.G. Ballard that was released in 1970.

There’s still no concrete date for Atrocity Exhibition, but considering he mentioned how the album was “almost finished” over a month ago, it seems likely that we’ll be hearing about a release date sooner rather than later. Here’s hoping that Atrocity Exhibition makes its way out before the end of the summer. He’s also announced a North American tour with over 40 dates, during which he’ll be accompanied by Maxo Kream and Zelooperz.

Check out all of the dates for the upcoming tour below, and buy tickets for the tour when they go on sale this Wednesday (July 20) here.
