The elusive Justin Vernon, best known as the man behind Bon Iver, has emerged out of the woods to offer up a tantalizing tease of what’s to come. Despite many believing that Bon Iver as a project may very well be no more, or at least Vernon wouldn’t record new material for the band, Vernon has revealed that new Bon Iver material is on the cards after all. After playing a series of shows in Asia and Australia, Bon Iver will play a headline set at Vernon’s own Eaux Claires Festival event, and they’re bringing one hell of a gift along with them.

Tweeting innocuously earlier today via his personal @blobtower account, Vernon said, “Hey for anyone who wants to know… Bon Iver will be playing a set made of NEW music this August.” Clarifying that the new material will be debuted at the Eaux Claires Festival event, it would appear that we won’t have all that long for new Bon Iver. Whether his tweet means the set will comprise of entirely new material or not remains to be seen, but new Bon Iver is new Bon Iver.

If you missed the previously unreleased Bon Iver b-side “Haven, Mass” that was included on this year’s Eaux Claires Festival cassette invitation, then check it out below.
